Your tour will commence with a visit to Amman’s Citadel, situated on a “mountain” in central Amman. Known for being one of the oldest continuously inhabited places, this first stop will offer you a glimpse over the capital before proceeding to Amman-Downtown. Known as “Al-Balad” by the locals, you’ll explore the various markets and ancient souks. Concluding this tour will be a visit to the most obvious and impressive remnant of its Roman past, the Roman theatre, built at the time Amman was known as “Philadelphia” (around 106 AD).

Next, we’ll take you to Jerash (a 45-minute drive from Amman), renowned for its well-preserved Roman cities. You’ll experience the impact and influence left by the Greco-Roman eras in the Mediterranean basin and the deeply rooted Arab traditions preserved by the local people. If you’re lucky, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a historical reenactment of gladiators and chariot races.

After a 3-hour drive, we’ll arrive at your hotel in Petra.

You might choose to attend Petra’s night show (available Monday, Wednesday & Thursday), a fascinating sight to be a part of (optional for 24 USD).

Enjoy your early breakfast at your hotel in Petra at 7:00 a.m.

Your tour guide will meet you to explore Petra from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will start our day by adventuring through the Petra Siq (canyon). You can choose to go on foot or enjoy a short horse ride leading you to “Al Khazneh”, known to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Just try to grasp the fact that the Arab Nabateans, more than 2000 years ago, carved this 45m high monument Treasury into the red mountain rock.

Enjoy a mouthwatering lunch at Al Qantara restaurant in Petra.

Around 1:30 p.m., your journey will continue south of Jordan to the most impressive deserts in the world where you’ll join a 2-hour sunset jeep tour and get to see the naturally multi-colored canyons, towering sandstone mountains, and dunes of Wadi Rum, known as the Valley of the Moon & made famous for being used as a background setting for numerous films (“The Martian”-2015, “Rogue One”-2016, “Aladdin”-2019, just to name a few…). (If no time permits, a sunrise tour will be arranged for the next morning, subject to clear sky during winter)

Finally, you’ll reach the Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp, located inside the protected area, where you can sit back, relax, or even meditate away from the city noise.

You’ll end your day with dinner, and your accommodation for the night will be in Wadi Rum.

We’ll embark on a 4-hour drive to reach Mount Nebo, where you’ll have a panoramic view over the Jordan Valley, the hills of Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea.

Next, you’ll embark on a mosaic tour until you reach Madaba, a city renowned for the mosaic map of the Holy Land, dating back to the 6th century AD, preserved in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George.

Around 2 p.m., we’ll drive towards the lowest point on Earth, passing by winding roads, allowing you to enjoy a stress-free day floating in the saltiest body of water in the world. You’ll enjoy lunch with an outstanding view of the sea. The Dead Sea is known as Earth’s lowest elevation on land and the deepest hypersaline lake globally. Its harsh environment does not permit the flourishing of any plants or animals. However, it boasts extremely healthy and beneficial properties that have attracted visitors for thousands of years. Today, it will supply you with natural mud that you can spread on your skin, putting any skincare lotions to shame. (PS: Be careful not to splash Dead Sea water in your eyes; it’s salty.)

At the end of the day, we’ll head back to Amman for your farewell dinner and overnight stay.
